James Bond to return to Pinewood Studios

James Bond is set to return to Pinewood Studios with ‘Bond 25’ scheduled to begin production there in December this year.

The movie will be Daniel Craig’s fifth and likely final outing in the iconic role and Danny Boyle will direct.

“The unparalleled combination of Danny’s innovative filmmaking and Daniel’s embodiment of 007 ensured we simply had to be partners in the next chapter of this iconic series,” said Donna Langley, chairman of Universal Pictures, which will distribute ‘Bond 25’ internationally.

Pinewood Studios is the historic home of the James Bond franchise. The facility’s largest stage is named after the British spy and producer Albert R Broccoli who first brought the character to the big screen with Dr. No in 1962.

Production on the new Bond movie will likely contain an international filming element in the best traditions of the franchise.

Bond last appeared in Sam Mendes’ Spectre, which filmed its opening sequence on location in Mexico and also shot key scenes in Austria, Italy and Morocco as well as in London.
