Hope Gap to film in Yorkshire
A new film starring Bill Nighy, Annette Bening and Josh O’Connor is readying for a Yorkshire shoot.
Hope Gap is directed by William Nicholson from his own screenplay. It is based on the writer’s stage play The Retreat From Moscow that ran on Broadway with a cast including Eileen Atkins, John Lithgow and Ben Chaplin.
The film comes from Origin Pictures and producer David Thompson. The story centres on Grace and Edward who have been married for nearly 30 years.
When their son comes to visit them, Edward tells him of his imminent plan to leave Grace.
Origin Pictures is also in development with Catherine the Great, a TV series co-produced with New Pictures and set to star Helen Mirren as the famous Empress of Russia.
