Christian Slater, Glenn Close film in Scotland
Producer Piers Tempest has lined up his next film project, The Wife, which is currently in pre-production before beginning a Glasgow-based shoot at the end of next month.
Tempest is joined by fellow producers Rosalie Swedlin, Meta Louise Foldager, Claudia Bluemhuber and Tempo partner Jo Bamford; Peter Gustafsson co-produces. Swedish director Bjorn Runge is at the helm. Silver Reel finance with Embankment representing international sales.

The Wife is adapted by Jane Anderson from Meg Wolitzer’s novel of the same name and centres on Joe Castleman – an esteemed American novelist - and his wife Joan.
As they travel to an awards ceremony where Joe is due to pick up a prestigious literary gong, Joan makes the decision to leave him, driven partly by the feeling she has sacrificed her own writing ambitions to support him during his lengthy and stellar career.
The cast includes Glenn Close, Christian Slater, Jonathan Pryce and Annie Starke.
In comments to The Knowledge, Tempest said he had been drawn back to shoot in Scotland after a very positive experience filming Jonathan Teplitzky’s much-anticipated new film ‘Churchill’ starring Brian Cox, Miranda Richardson, John Slattery and Ella Purnell, there earlier this year.
Scotland remains the only UK nation without a purpose-built film studio, so high-profile projects like The Wife should add support to the ongoing call from industry professionals for a dedicated production space to get the greenlight.
