BECTU’s Freelancers Fair will take place this Friday. Among the attractions is ‘The Importance of Collaboration in the Making of Quality TV Drama’ – a session aimed at casting directors, TV directors and producers.
 
Samantha Baines, actress and comedian, will chair a conversation, beginning at 4 o’clock, on the ins and outs of television drama casting, directing and producing after the success of Downton Abbey, Titanic, and The Tudors has suggested a new era for British drama. 
 
Joining Samantha will be producer Madonna Baptiste (Margaret Thatcher:The Long Walk To Finchley), director, Diarmuid Lawrence (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, The Body Farm, South Riding, Emma) and Jill Trevellick (Merlin, Downton Abbey, The Hour). They will discuss the importance of team collaboration, creativity, and imaginative casting to ensure success in quality TV drama. The session will be followed by an opportunity to network.
