Ridley Scott films in the UK

Ridley Scott A new feature film about an ingenious Dutch art forger begins production this week with Ridley Scott on board to produce.

Lyrebird explores the story and trial of Hans van Meergeren, a Dutch painter and portraitist who was also an accomplished forger.

His talent at forgery led to many critics believing his works to be those of the real masters, and the Dutchman’s renown grew further when it was discovered that Hermann Goring had bought one of his forgeries during the Nazi occupation of The Netherlands.

Dan Friedkin of LA-based Imperative Entertainment is directing Lyrebird - principal photography gets underway this week in The Netherlands, where it will film for a fortnight before moving to London.
