Dark Heart to film in London
ITV crime drama Dark Heart starts filming in London next week for Silverprint Pictures.
Tom Riley stars as DI Will Wagstaffe, a man haunted by the unsolved murder of his parents when he was a teenager. The six-part series is inspired by novels written by Adam Creed.
Dark Heart is scheduled to shoot for nine weeks. Letitia Knight produces, with Colin Teague as director and Julian Fullalove as production designer.
“We’re thrilled Tom Riley has agreed to return as Will Wagstaffe in Dark Heart,” said Polly Hill, head of drama at ITV, when the series was first announced.
“As the central character, he has immersed himself in police work to seek some form of closure for what has happened in his past. It’s a gritty, emotionally-driven thriller from [co-writer] Chris Lang, which I’m only too pleased to recommission from Kate Bartlett’s new drama label.”
Lang has written the first two-part story and the final two episodes, with Ben Harris responsible for Episodes Three and Four.
