BBC's The Boy With The Topknot gears up
A feature-length adaptation of journalist Sathnam Sanghera’s memoirs is nearing pre-production with shooting set to begin in the spring.
The Boy with the Topknot follows Sanghera’s childhood in 1980s Wolverhampton and is based on his book which was shortlisted for the 2008 Costa Biography Award and the 2009 PEN/Acklerley Prize, and named 2009 Mind Book of the Year.
The 90-minute drama for BBC Two is adapted by Mick Ford for Kudos and Parti Productions. The exec producers are Diederick Santer, Lucy Richer and Nisha Parti.

Kudos is currently in pre-production on two international projects. The Tunnel Series 3 is set to film in the UK and France while Troy: Fall of a City is about to shoot in South Africa. Both titles are listed on PI with shoot dates and key UK HoDs.
Cameras started rolling on 20 February on another Kudos project, Gunpowder, which is being made in conjunction with Kit Harington’s company Thriker Films. Harington also stars in the period drama which is centred around the Gunpowder Plot of 1605.
