Filming begins on W1A Series 3
The third series of W1A has begun filming in central London with Hugh Bonneville back as BBC Head of Values Ian Fletcher.
Writer/director John Morton’s self-referencing BBC comedy will once again be delivered as a 6 x 30 for BBC Two.
The executive producer is Jon Plowman; Paul Schlesinger produces. Among the returning cast are Monica Dolan, Jason Watkins, Jessica Hynes, Sarah Parish and Nina Sosanya.
Shooting runs for six weeks. The show is filmed at the BBC’s central London HQ, which, as Hugh Bonneville said in an interview reported by The Sunday Post, can present challenges: “It must be an absolute pain in the neck if you’re a BBC employee trying to create something and you have these numpties with film cameras wandering about. That’s a complete nightmare, and we’re grateful to the staff for putting up with us.”
The show is one of many comedies listed on Production Intelligence, at various stages of production, from returners like Flowers, Cuckoo and Mum to new commissions including The Bisexual, Good Omens and Back.
Production Intelligence was launched in late 2011 and currently has details on more than 8,100 productions, from major US feature films, high-end TV dramas and international co-productions to entertainment shows and non-scripted factual content.
