The A Word Series 2 to shoot next spring
The second series of The A Word is due to film next spring with active pre-production getting underway after Christmas.
The BBC One show is based on Keren Margalit’s Israeli production Yellow Peppers (the first time the corporation had remade an Israeli drama) and centres on a young boy and his dysfunctional family coping with his autism.
The first series of The A Word aired to robust ratings and received a positive critical reception when it aired in March this year. The show comes from Fifty Fathoms and Keshet UK.
Series 2 will also comprise 6 x 60, with Peter Bowker returning to write the new episodes; he is among the executive producers. Filming will once again take place in the Lake District.
