Holmes and Watson sets up UK shoot
A new Hollywood take on Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson is currently in pre-production in the UK with Will Ferrell and John C Reilly attached to star as the sleuth and his sidekick respectively.
Holmes and Watson will be directed by Etan Cohen, calling the shots from his own screenplay. It reunites Ferrell and Reilly with Sony Pictures: the pair also starred in Talladega Nights and Step Brothers for the studio.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's creation is proving an evergreen source of material for producers – apart from the BBC’s flagship drama starring Benedict Cumberbatch, there have been other iterations mooted in recent years, including the long-gestating feature Sherlock Holmes 3 from Robert Downey Jr.
UK studios are currently full of US feature films such as The Flash, the untitled Jurassic World sequel, Mary Poppins Returns and many more.
