Warner Bros tops a busy time for film and TV
It’s been an industrious start to the month for UK crew, and the next couple of weeks will prove equally fruitful as cameras start to roll on several film and TV productions during the middle part of April.
With the help of our online subscription service Production Intelligence we take a look at the line-up for busy crew around the country, and further afield, as principal photography gets underway on a variety of features and TV dramas.
Film
They don’t get much bigger than Warner Bros, and the second week of April sees principal photography get underway on Justice League Part One.
Gal Gadot reprises her Wonder Woman role in the superhero thriller, alongside Henry Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman) Ezra Miller (The Flash) and Ray Fisher (Cyborg).

TV
To TV now, and the return of one of the longest running dramas on BBC One, Silent Witness. Filming gets underway on the twentieth outing of the dark forensic drama on 11 April.

The seven-month shoot is exec produced by the BBC’s Anne Pivcevic, with other key names on PI including the producer, line producer, casting director, location manager, production co-ordinator and production designer.
Also making a return is The Coroner, a daytime drama comprising 10 x 60 for BBC One. The drama sees Claire Goose back in her role of a coroner who returns to work in the seaside town which was her childhood home.

Filming runs for three months in south Devon. Sam Hill is series producer; PI subscribers can log in for names including directors, line producer and casting director.
One of comedy’s most iconic creations, Alf Garnett, is to be revived as part of the BBC’s Lost Sitcoms season, which we told you about last week. Johnny Speight’s original episode of Till Death Us Do Part, since lost in the archive, is called A Woman’s Place is in the Home, and will be recorded in front of a studio audience in Glasgow during the second week of April. Owen Bell is in place to produce. Director, production manager and casting director are all on PI, along with the recording date and venue.
Series 5 of Episodes gets up and running in mid-April, with Matt LeBlanc, Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan. The UK/US comedy was created by David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik and is produced by Hat Trick Productions.
It has reaped a Golden Globe for LeBlanc, and been nominated for four Primetime Emmys. PI has listings for the line producer, casting director and production manager for this new, nine-episode run. Filming is once again taking place in London and LA.
