David Brent readies for Life on the Road
It's finally coming - David Brent on the big screen. Ricky Gervais' feature Life on the Road is now in the early stages of pre-production, with shooting scheduled to begin towards the end of the year.
The mockumentary feature centres on a camera crew following Brent - now working as a travelling salesman - as he pursues his dreams of becoming a rock star on a self-funded tour with his band Foregone Conclusion.
Gervais produces Life on the Road (alongside regular collaborator Charlie Hanson), and will also direct from his own screenplay. When financing was announced on the project back in May, Gervais said: ""I'm so excited that the world will see what David Brent is up to now and where his future lies. This film delves much more into his private life than The Office ever did and we really get to peel back the layers of this extraordinary, ordinary man."
