Tim Burton lines up next feature

Tim BUrtonTim Burton's next feature is a big screen adaptation of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, which he is lining up for a UK shoot later this year.

The children's book was the debut novel from American author Ransom Riggs, about a young boy who goes through a terrible family tragedy. After following a series of clues contained in old photographs, he finds himself on a remote Welsh island in an abandoned orphanage.

Unusually, and we can see exactly why this would appeal to Burton, the story combines the traditional narrative with vintage photographs from both Riggs himself and other collectors.

Jane Goldman (Kingsman:The Secret Service; X-Men: First Class; Kick-Ass etc) is writing the screenplay. We spoke to the US shingle behind the project, Chernin Entertainment, who told us that it is still pretty early days on this one, but that a UK shoot is currently being eyed for later this year.
