Cadbury unwraps their Christmas campaign

In the latest in our round-up of Christmas ads, we took a peak at the new spot for Cadbury's Dairy Milk - the first time the chocolate giant has produced a festive commercial.

Cadbury Unwrap Joy campaign

The premise of Unwrap Joy is that children in a London street wake up to the magic of their entire road being wrapped in the famous purple foil. Houses are swathed, lampposts are swaddled and cars are cocooned.

From Fallon, the 60 second ad sees the kids in a frenzy of unwrapping, no doubt echoing - albeit on a bigger scale - the scenes around the country at dawn on Christmas Day. The climax is when a giant Cadbury snowman bursts, showering the children with Cadbury products. It's all set to 1960s songstress Darlene Love's rendition of Marshmallow World.

Cadbury Christmas campaign 2

Filmed in August in Sladedale Road in Plumstead, the spot involved 62 children, 2,500 metres of purple paper, 60 feet of gift tape and giant 18 foot bows.

The commercial is one of the many festive ads from the big hitters which herald the advent of the Christmas shopping season, such as John Lewis and Marks & Spencer.
