The Philips Museum in Eindhoven was recently opened by Queen Beatrix of Holland following a major refurbishment to the original factory that was first used by Philips & Co. in 1891.

Twain Imagineering, a leading creative agency based in The Netherlands, were commissioned by the Museum to enhance visitor experience by using interactive technology to bring static workroom exhibits to life.

Twain chose Spherevision recording technology to produce interactive iPad media and Spherevision’s development team to build an enhanced reality application. Using hotpots on the Apple device, visitors can view the original workshop whilst bringing up character reenactors along with other information, in a virtual living history exhibit.

This novel and engaging application has enhanced an already fascinating visit to a Museum steeped in Dutch electronic history that dates back over a hundred and twenty years.
